The video will be below:
This scene displays Bella sitting there, depressed, as the seasons change. It shows her sitting in the same room in the same pose as the lighting changes and the view from outside of her window changes. The camera rotates around her constantly, displaying the transitions from season to season. These transitions symbolize how long depression can have an affect on you for. There is an eerie feeling to this scene, knowing that her depression came from something real. While the sad music plays over these seemingly calm scenes, it can make audiences empathetic for Bella.
I enjoy this scene a lot, especially since it breaks the 180 degree rule. The 180 degree rule basically says that you should never display the entire surrounding of a scene because it can be disruptive to the film. However, since the 180 degree rule was broken in order to show the transitions of the scene, I think it's very intriguing, especially since it's not very often that someone decides to break the 180 degree rule and be able to get away with it.
Overall, this scene has convinced me to try and venture out there with my film. I want my film to truly capture an audience's attention and I plan on using a scene like this in my short film because I feel like it's eye-catching.
