As for my possible locations, I want to choose somewhere in Hudson, Florida. I also think that because of the situation, being in high school, it would be a good idea to film in a high school itself. However, not all of my film would be filmed in a high school to increase diversity of location and give audiences a newer perspective so that nothing is "old" to them. I have the majority of my idea figured out, but because I haven't figured it all out yet, these locations are only planning.
Next, I want to include a neighborhood street. While this seems basic, I would like to include a scene of my character running to symbolize their internal struggles turning external. I would likely use the street outside of my house to film these scenes because my house would be easy to film around.
Also, I think I would include the inside of my house, as well. Since using my own home would be more reliable than another location, I definitely want to use it. However, to create some more diversity, I also want to include more locations like the local park or something with a lot of trees. Trees in film can symbolize life and stability, so since the main character wants stability, I will include multiple scenes with the trees.
Overall, the short film will come together well when I have all my different locations featured in it, especially since the different scenes will have elements with a lot of representation and familiarity in them.
