Blog Post #31: Plot

Obviously, my main idea is to create a story that portrays how teenagers develop in environments with many different stereotypes surrounding them and their identity. However, I haven't gone into complete depth about my plot yet.

My plot starts with a young teenager named Greece. Since their name is interesting and not common, they already get made fun of. I believe that representing bullying will add more emotion to my short film, and I plan on portraying their mixed feelings as they grow as a person. I want to create conflict in my short film using social media. Since so many teens are seen on their phones constantly, I want to show how it can affect a growing teenager who doesn't exactly understand who they are yet.

I want to include conflict from social media by using posts and comments that can be seen as rude because these small posts and comments can change a person's whole mindset. There are a lot of cases of online bullying, and the ones that are overlooked the most come from teenagers who are struggling with their sexuality and identity.

I want to show how Greece struggles with making friends in a subtle way, showing their reactions during interactions with others. I want to use their character to represent multiple behavioral disorders in a way that's not too flashy compared to other films.

Overall, the whole plot is based on their character development which I intend to show when they finally look at themselves and don't have a problem with their appearance.
